More information
Yoga – Please visit the FAQ section of my website to learn more about Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga. Both classes on this retreat can be adapted for beginners. Please bring a yoga mat, a pillow and blanket with you for the relaxation part of this retreat, all other props are provided.
Yoga Nidra – A term that translates as ‘yogic sleep’. It’s a guided relaxation that allows you to feel the benefits of deep sleep and it’s a place where the brain waves are unable to accommodate stress or anxiety. With this extended practise we will explore a visualisation that will enhance the experience, releasing any negativity and blockages in the body that no longer serve us so we can emerge free and rested, ready to embrace the new season. More information about Yoga Nidra is available under the News section of my website.
Affirmation and Intention setting workshop – An affirmation is a positive thought repeated many times so we can influence a new mindset. It is particularly beneficial during a relaxation or Yoga Nidra practise where the mind is no longer able to make preconceived reactions as we are able to engage the evolved part of our brain so we have the freedom to choose our responses. During this workshop we will explore some positive statements and have some time to reflect on what you’d like to encourage and envision for yourself. And have a deeper understanding and appreciation of your intuition. As we move into the warmer seasons, it’s a time for growth both in nature and personally and a time to focus on you and your needs.
Terrarium Workshop – I am absolutely delighted to be collaborating with Hand Spun Botanics once again. An exceptional plant shop based in Lewes and online. Please visit HS Botanics website for more information.
Daryl will guide us through the theraputic art of terrarium making, your very own indoor enclosed garden. These tiny eco systems will bring you so much joy not only to make, but to admire at home too a perfect reminder of our day.
Immersing your hands in soil has many benefits. It has its own micro biome and this increases your serotonin levels. Serotonin is a natural anti-depressant and stress reliever and as a result, boosts your immune system. Recent studies have shown that channeling your creativity uses the entire brain, similar to meditation. Allowing yourself the freedom to be creative can be liberating and make new connections in the brain that are no longer seeking stressful environments.
Food and drink – All food and drink on this day retreat will be provided. Please do let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.
Locally Sourced where we can
Our morning coffee will be provided by Liquid Spirit Coffee Roasters. Based in Litlington, just a stones throw from our Retreat venue. Their aim is to extract the best natural flavour from every coffee bean, so they scrutinise every detail about the origin of the beans and the farms they come from. More information is available on their website.
Please do visit HS Botanics shops next time you’re in Lewes. For shop location please visit the website.
