More information

Yoga – Please visit the FAQ section of my website to learn more about Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga. Both classes on this retreat can be adapted for beginners. Please bring a yoga mat with you, all other props are provided.

Yoga Nidra – A term that translates as ‘yogic sleep’. It’s a guided relaxation that allows you to feel the benefits of deep sleep and it’s a place where the brain waves are unable to accommodate stress or anxiety, releasing any negativity and blockages in the body that no longer serve us so we can emerge free and rested, ready to embrace the new season. More information about Yoga Nidra is available under the News section of my website.

Forest Bathing – This has become very popular in recent years, but it was originally a Japanese practise called shinrin yoku. It is an observation practise where we become mindful of the sights and sounds around us so we can fully immerse ourselves in nature. Studies have shown just an hour in nature can boost your overall wellbeing, resetting your brain waves to a level where cortisol is no longer produced. I will teach you a breathwork practise amongst the trees to enable grounding so you can reconnect back to yourself. It is the perfect opportunity to slow down and enjoy a time of stillness and peace. Forest Bathing is a process of quiet observation which improves interoception. It is an individual experience so we respect each others journey throughout the process.  The walk will be around 2 miles long and does involve a couple of hills (it is the South Downs after all!) Please bring appropriate footwear and a change of clothes if needed. A reasonable level of fitness is expected to complete the walk – as long as you can comfortably climb a flight of stairs, you will be fine. The event will go ahead whatever the weather – it really is especially powerful forest bathing whilst being protected from the elements by the stunning canopy of the trees.

Food and drink – Tea, coffee and cake will be provided. Please do let me know if you have any special dietary requirements.
