I would like to thank each and every one of you beautiful soon-to-be yogis for booking onto my new Beginners Courses that were due to start today. Until we can meet safely, all classes have had to be cancelled until further notice. It is with an extremely heavy heart I have had to do this. I had planned so many exciting classes for you to all to begin your yoga journey.

Yoga is for life, not just for January.

In the meantime, take any chance you can to get outside and breathe deeply. I aim to keep myself busy by utilising my social media platforms to introduce you all to some of the most commonly used poses in a general yoga class. Each week, I will choose two and teach you the target areas to give you some indication as to how the pose will feel. You can play around with your own alignment, listening to your body above all else. I hope when we come to class in the not-so-distant future you will have an idea how your body responds to these asana.

Remember, your body is perfectly unique, keep it that way!

Bare in mind that not everyone’s version of the pose will be the same. Have a read of my last News post about this.

My worry is that with all these photos on the internet (including my own), is that some people will find yoga unachievable and so will be reluctant to try.

Yoga is about making space in the body where there formally was none.

It’s about allowing space for the fullness of your breath. That’s all. Not getting your leg behind your head, or funky handstands (as cool as this does look). So any progress you make in just allowing yourself to free up any stiffness and pains in your body, is your yoga.

So pop by my social media pages and give the poses a go and let me know how you get on. Just taking the time to concentrate on your breath alone will be of incredible benefit to you.

We will be able to practise together soon, I’m sure of that. I can’t wait to show you how your yoga will be a big part of your life.
