Information

More information

Yoga – Please visit the FAQ section of my website to learn more about Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga. Both classes on this retreat can be adapted for beginners. The idea of this retreat is to tune inwards. To decide what your body is craving today, and with this in mind all classes are purely optional. If you decide to spend the whole week by the pool or exploring the local area then please do so. This is your retreat, so there are no expectations, nothing you need to do except relax, reconnect and be purely and completely focused on what you need. Let me take care of the rest.

Yoga Nidra – A term that translates as ‘yogic sleep’. It’s a guided relaxation that allows you to feel the benefits of deep sleep and it’s a place where the brain waves are unable to accommodate stress or anxiety. More information about Yoga Nidra is available under the News section of my website.

Hike – This will be purely optional but it is included in your retreat. This is a guided 3.5 hour hike called Homer’s walk, where we’ll learn about the story behind Odysseus and Ithaca, as described by Homer’s poetry 28 centuries ago. It will allow us to take in the sheer beauty of the island from our elevated position.

Flights and transfers – I will recommend flight times to Kefalonia, the nearest airport. The 2-hour transfer is by bus and boat and is included in your retreat cost provided you arrive and depart within the specified times. An option is to stay overnight either before or after the retreat in Kefalonia if you wish and meet the private boat for transport across the Ionian Sea to Ithaca.

Daily Housekeeping – All bedrooms and en-suites are cleaned daily with bath and beach towels changed mid week.

Food and drink – All food and drink on this retreat will be provided. My aim is for the retreat to be vegetarian with a focus on delicious, nourishing, organic nutrition. This is not a detox or a fast, but to enjoy food that is prepared for you by our own in-house chef. There is plenty of tea, coffee, snacks and fruit available all day. No washing up, as we’ll have a housekeeper to take care of us. Just sit back and enjoy spending time with like-minded yogis. Please do let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.

About Ithaca – Ithaca is a Greek island set in a place of outstanding natural beauty providing a place specifically for peace and relaxation. It is one of the smallest Ionian islands but it certainly radiates with Grecian authenticity. So many mythical mysteries are sensed amongst the panorama and secretive coves. The retreat venue overlooks the sea and the eastern coastline of neighbouring Kefalonia from an elevated wildressness of olive trees and exposed rocks that provide the elements around which it is built, allowing the natural beauty to speak for itself. An emphasis on indoor-outdoor living ensures full use of the land and its treasures then extend to the sweeping and hidden beaches below.

Nearest Beaches – 2 beaches are less than 4 minutes all away below the retreat venue. Another tree shaded beach is 10 minutes walk. There are plenty of kayaks, scuba diving and other water sports available to rent.

Optional Extras – There are many stress relieving, well-being treatments available such as Ayurvedic full-body warm oil massage, reflexology, lymphatic drainage massage, facial and many more that are bookable upon request. Full details will be provided at a later date. These will incur an extra fee.

So are you ready to invest in your own well-being? Ready to rest and restore body and mind? Please do contact me if you have any further questions.

Is this retreat right for me?

This retreat is suitable for everyone! Whether you are a brand new yogi or a seasoned practitioner, the privilege of immersing yourself in your yoga practice is not only transformative but also an experience like no other. We are all welcomed, we are all there to experience the same thing; rest, relaxation and maybe a connection back in with ourselves and others. You have the freedom to do as much or as little as you choose because this retreat is about you and what you need. I’m only offering the space. I want you to feel comfortable to enjoy your time at this retreat focusing on yourself.

But I don’t think I’m fit enough for two yoga sessions a day!

I’m with you there! Our first class in the morning will be a more energising flow.  I offer many variations of the poses to suit all experience and energy levels. What I love about yoga is that it’s not prescriptive, you have the freedom to take it up or down a level as you choose. The second class is a Yin style which is a more relaxing style of yoga predominantly practiced on the floor. More information about the different styles are available under the FAQ section of the website. You have the option to do as much or as little as you choose on this retreat. If you’re in any doubt, please contact me and we’ll chat through it all.

How many people will be on this retreat?

Our maximum occupancy is 12 yogis including me.

Can I come on my own or with a friend?

Either is completely fine! Many yogis travel on their own and meet new friends. If you’ve opted for a shared room I will only pair guests that I believe will get on well. This has worked brilliantly so far.
If you’re travelling with a friend please let me know on the booking form so I can allocate the correct room to you both.

What are the best flights to get to Kefalonia?

Both EasyJet and British Airways fly from the UK. I will advise the recommend flight times for the group transfer. You can fly earlier or later than these times but please be aware the travel to the retreat venue will be at your own cost. If in any doubt, email me and I’ll be happy to advise. I’ll also be setting up a WhatsApp group so we can all get to know each other before our retreat.

How do I travel to the retreat venue from the airport?

This will be by bus and private boat. The bus takes you from the airport to Fiskardo. The transfer time is approximately 1-hour. The private boat will take you across Polis Bay which takes around 15 minutes. Your journey continues by minibus to the retreat venue for another 10 minutes.

Most important question – tell me about the food!

The food has been highlighted further up the page but will predominantly be vegetarian with a focus on healthy but delicious nutrition that will fill you up! Think fresh, organic and locally produced.  They will cater 3 meals a day. Breakfast buffet in the morning sun shaded by the olive trees or pergola. Lunch is buffet style under the pergola or feel free to use one of the cool sitting areas between the rocks. Dinner is on the terrace under the canapy of the stars or in the indoor library if we prefer. If you have any dietary requirements please do let me know as soon as possible so we can plan the menu adequately.

Next really important question – please may I drink alcohol?

Yes. This is your retreat and if that is something you feel would enhance your experience then please do so. All I ask is for you to be respectful of other guests. Alcohol isn’t included in the retreat but you can bring your own if you’d like. This retreat venue asks for a small corkage fee or you can purchase some from them directly.

The boring bit – how do I pay you and what is the refund policy?

To secure your place on this retreat, a non-refundable £300 deposit will be requested by invoice once you have emailed me to confirm your booking. We will discuss the room allocation, confirm the terms and conditions and any other questions you would like answered first. Payment will be made by bank transfer.

Obviously no one books a retreat expecting to cancel, but of course I understand we are arranging this retreat in advance, circumstances out of your control do happen. Please do make sure you have adequate travel insurance in place.

To keep it fair to myself, the retreat venue and other yogis the following cancellation policy will be in place.

The full retreat cost will be invoiced at 3 separate intervals. You will be emailed the full payment plan details.

The next reminder will be sent to request 50% of the final balance by 1 October 2025. The final reminder will be sent to request payment for the remaining balance which will be due by 1 February 2026.

If you book closer to the second invoice date, you will be asked to make the payment to balance.

If you would prefer to pay for the full retreat cost on booking, then you have the option to do so.

All payments are non-refundable unless I have to cancel the retreat. If this is the case all payments will be refunded in full. Full terms and conditions will be sent to you before you confirm the booking with me.
