Vinyasa Flow

25 April 2024

The practise of nurturing body, mind and spirit

Vinyasa Flow is a style of yoga that synchronises breath with movement. It is usually a faster-paced class that some are used to if they have studied other yoga disciplines. It’s dynamic and can be quite challenging. That being said, variations of the postures can be adapted to suit all levels.

A basic understanding of yoga and asana is recommended* due to the fluidity of the movements in the class. Every class will be different, incorporating many new creative sequences working to move the whole body freely rather than adhering to a stringent set of rules.

(*If you are brand new to yoga, or only have limited experience, or just feel attending a mixed-level class is quite daunting, please take a look at my beginner 6 week course).

The main benefits of a Vinyasa Flow Yoga class are:

  • Increased flexibility, strength and fitness
  • Better balance and stamina
  • Lower stress and anxiety
  • A relaxed group of like-minded people determined to have fun!

The practise of cultivating breath and body awareness

Dynamic Hatha Yoga is a more traditional style of yoga. It’s an accessible sequenced class suitable for all ages, body shapes and types and yoga experience. Using breath awareness and body alignment, through movement we will develop strength and stamina. Sequences vary every week for a fun, flowing class working within our comfort zone.

In this class, we’ll slow it down, finding our natural alignment and where the pose serves us best. We will concentrate on moving the body mindfully and carefully, increasing our flexibility.

The main benefits of a Dynamic Hatha Yoga class are:
